What Does a Typical PHP Day Look Like?
At Trailhead Treatment Center in Salem, NH, PHP runs 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Each day includes a minimum of 5 clinical hours as required by New Hampshire regulations. A typical day includes: Morning: Group therapy opens the day. Sessions are led by licensed clinicians and focus on skill-building, processing, and peer support. Morning also includes individual therapy with your assigned therapist. Midday: Lunch is provided on-site. The break gives you time to decompress between clinical sessions. Afternoon: Holistic programming (yoga, breathwork, meditation, sound therapy, or grounding techniques), additional group or individual work, and case management check-ins. Your schedule adjusts as treatment progresses. The structure stays consistent enough to build daily rhythm and flexible enough to respond to what you need week to week.What PHP Includes
Individual Therapy
You receive a dedicated therapist assigned on day one. That therapist stays with you through your entire course of treatment, including if you step down to IOP or outpatient. No handoffs.Group Therapy
Daily group sessions cover coping skills, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and processing. Group work is where most participants build the peer connections that support long-term recovery.Holistic Programming
Yoga, breathwork, meditation, Reiki, sound therapy, and grounding techniques are scheduled into each day alongside clinical sessions. Self-regulation and stress management are part of treatment, not optional extras.Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Injectable MAT with Vivitrol, Sublocade, and Brixadi is available for opioid and alcohol use disorders. MAT is integrated into your treatment plan and coordinated with your therapist.Case Management
Case managers help with housing resources, financial applications, insurance coordination, and connections to local support networks.Family Services
Family support sessions are conducted by your individual therapist on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. The focus is communication, education, and rebuilding trust.Who Is PHP For?
